The mark consists of A panther sleeping on a round disc or ball that includes an outer band with the words Fort Worth along the top edge of the outer band and the words Astronomical Society along the bottom edge of the band with five-leaf accents at both ends of the words on the bottom edge which surrounds a large telescope on a mount with a smaller guiding scope situated on top of the large telescope with a colored background and numerous five-pointed stars of various sizes surrounding the larger telescope.
