The mark consists of a five-sided shield design, in blue, bordered in white and black. Within the field of the shield is a red diamond, bordered in white and black. Within that red diamond is an eagle sitting atop an anchor with the anchor line wrapped around the anchor. Both the eagle, the anchor and line are yellow bordered by black. Surrounding the diamond are five five-pointed white stars, in the shape of the Southern Cross constellation. In the lower right hand portion of the blue shield is a Japanese character, in yellow and framed in black.
