The mark consists of a circular emblem, where the outermost outline of the circle is yellow, and inside is a blue filled separation between the outer outline and an image in the middle. In the blue space are the words DISTRICT FEDERAL in white font at the top, curling around the top of the inner circle where the image is. On either side of the phrase are three yellow stars, and on the bottom of the blue space is the phrase PROTECTION DEPARTMENT curled around the bottom of the circle. There is an inner yellow circle denoting the separation of the inner image as well. The inner image is made up of all white buildings overlaid over a blue background representing the sky. The buildings include a courthouse on the left hand side, a domed capitol-like building in the middle and a spire on the right hand side. On the bottom are undiscernible figures representing the back of the heads of huddled masses. On the top left is a brown feathered bald eagle soaring above the image.
