The certification mark, as used by persons authorized by the certifier, certifies that the services provided and the business establishment displaying the mark meet the certifier's standards regarding business' operations and activities regarding certain quality standards of design, construction, operation, maintenance and performance and have demonstrated a level of competency in implementing green initiatives to meet certain standards set by the certifier in areas relating to resource efficiency, energy efficiency, durability, indoor environmental quality, water efficiency, efficient use of materials and resources, waste reduction, soundproofing, onsite recycling, CO2 emissions reduction, sensitivity to the impact of natural resources, use of energy efficient appliances, use of low-flow toilets and faucets that reduce water consumption, energy efficient lighting that helps lower energy costs and lower utility bills, and is sensitive to the impact on natural resources.
