The mark consists of three concentric circles. The outermost circle is shaded in black, the next is thin and red, and the middle circle is shaded in white. The wording "SYRIAN AMERICAN MEDICAL SOCIETY 1998" appears in white stylized text inside of the black, outermost concentric circle. There is a tan map of Syria on the inside of the circle. There is a design of serpents and a staff above the map of Syria. The staff is gray, as are the wings attached to the staff. There are two serpents which are intertwined around the staff. The serpent with its head on the left-hand side of the staff is red outlined in black, while the serpent with its head on the right-hand side of the staff is green outlined in black. The slight gray shading in the center of the circle represents shading only, and is not claimed as a feature of the mark.
