The mark consists of the word "STEM" in capital letters inside a circle with a black background, above it the word "Best" and below it the word "Books" both in script, five stars in a semicircle above "Best" with the largest star in the middle and two stars in descending size on each side of the middle star, pages of an open book in the lower right and left of the circle, and a curved branch with leaves bending upward along each side of the circle, with a white line surrounded by a black line forming the outer edges of the circle, and at the bottom of the circle a fanciful tubular design of the initials "NSTA" next to, in smaller text, the words "National Science Teachers Association" in a stacked configuration.
