The mark consists of a cigar band shape with the outer edges in gold next to a band of black with a red line down the center of the black band. In the center is a pale yellow border that surrounds the central portion of the design, with a black border inside and which surrounds a pale yellow background. Inside this central portion is the word "MICALLEF" in red and in an arch above a crest design, with a helmet of armor in gray, surrounded by gold design. Below the helmet is a gold shield with an "X" design in black with the edge of the shield outlined in black. The entire shield and helmet is surrounded in a floral pattern of black and gold. Surrounding the word "MICALLEF" and the design is a thin outline floral border in gold. On either side of the center design is a gold floral design surrounded by a black background with a border of gold, then a border of black and then a border of red.
