The mark consists of concentric circles, where the outer circle contains a stylized fragment from the center of the American Flag showing the lower right-hand corner of the dark blue field of white stars in the upper left-hand corner of the circle and where the remainder of the circle is filled with the flag's surrounding red and white horizontal stripes. The edges of the outer circle have an inside and outside border with an alternating gradient from silver to white to black. The inner circle is outlined in dark blue and is otherwise dark blue on the bottom and light blue on the top and carries a white droplet design in the center with a dark blue five-pointed star toward the bottom right of the droplet. The word "FEDERAL" appears in small indigo lettering across the top of the droplet design, and the words "CREDIT UNION" appear in larger red letters outlined in white across the droplet design below the word "FEDERAL". The word "NATIONAL" appears in large white letters outlined in red in an arc around the top of the inner circle, and the wording "RURAL WATER" appears in large white letters outline in red in an arc around the bottom perimeter of the inner circle. Other than the aforementioned uses, the color white represents transparent background and is not claimed as part of the mark.
