The mark consists of a stylized outline of the state of Alabama on the approximate left third of the mark and the words "GREATER ALABAMA MLS" on the approximately bottom two-thirds of the right two-thirds of the mark. The stylized outline of the state of Alabama is created with a single medium weight line that starts in the lower right corner of the state design and continues up, to the left, down at an angle, and then curves up and to the right of the mark, and then past where the line started. As the line continues to the right two thirds of the mark it bisects the words "GREATER", which is above the line, and "ALABAMA MLS", which is below the line. In the interior of the stylized state is an outline of a house with a door in the center. There is a faded background in the interior of the stylized state that fades from a medium shade to white. Below the stylized state is solid shape that has a slight fade from a medium shade to a dark shade.
