Each end of the ribbon is folded under the oval and ends just outside the oval with reverse points. A shadow appears behind the top inner half of the outer oval and the bottom inner half of the ribbon. Written on the outer oval are the words "NEW ORLEANS" at the top and "CUISINE" at the bottom. On either side of the word "CUISINE" are two crawfish, oriented facing the word "CUISINE" with their tails curved under the oval.
