The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, is intended to certify that the contractor is building or renovating a residential or commercial building in an environmentally responsible manner by using methods and products that conserve energy, water and other resources; use recycled and reclaimed materials; use low VOC products; and address issues of responsible removal and disposal of waste and hazardous materials; and by incorporating features and design that support environmentally responsible use of the building, including recycling areas and facilities, preferred parking and chargers for hybrid vehicles, bicycle racks and automatic light sensors, thereby lessening the impact of the construction of the building on the environment.
