Applicant itself is not engaged in the offering or marketing of the services to which the mark is applied. The certification mark, as used by authorized persons, certifies persons authorized to use the mark have met the applicant-certifier's requirements for practice in the certified genetic counseling field, and that as such, each of such persons (1) has successfully passed an examination prepared and reviewed by applicant-certifier and (2) and has met other qualifications set by applicant-certifier which establish that such persons are competent and qualified to provide certified genetic counseling services. Applicant is exercising legitimate control over the use of the certification mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified services.
