The mark consists of the stylized letters "KIA" in white with two five point stars in white, all on a black background. The first star is positioned between the "K" and the "I," and the second star is positioned between the "I" and the "A." These are centered over a circle and follow the contour of the circle. The circle contains the design of an inverted M-16-A2 military issue rifle with a kevlar soldier's military issue helmet resting on it with free flowing chin straps. The rifle and helmet are positioned to the left of an American Flag, "The National Standard," which flows from the left to the right at half mast/staff on a flag pole. The orientation of the pistol grip and magazine on the rifle are to the left and away from the flag. The rifle, helmet, flag and flag pole are in the color black against a white background, all within the circle. Below the circle are the words "ETERNAL GRATITUDE" in all upper case letters, stylized lettering, with the Greek infinity symbol centered between the two words, on three separate horizontal lines. The Greek infinity symbol circles in a figure eight starting from the center top, continuing to the left, then down and to the right, then up at the center, to the right, then down and returning to the left. The beginning and end points do not meet or make contact. The words "ETERNAL GRATITUDE" and the Greek infinity symbol are all in white against a black background, centered and horizontally level beneath the circle. The black background of the mark is square in shape.
