The mark consists of a stylized graphic design of a retina. The retina takes the form of a circle, outlined by a larger circle in a lighter shading. The interior portion of the circle is multi-faceted: the upper-left corner is darkly shaded and embellished with a white eight-pointed star to give the impression that the image is sparkling. The top, right and bottom portions of the retina are lightly shaded. An arterial structure is concentrated on the right side of the design and extends across the surface of the retina, starting on the right side and slightly sweeping towards the left side.
