The certification mark, as intended to be used by authorized persons, is intended to certify that the individual has met the certifier's standards of competence as a walkway safety specialist, as demonstrated by completion of the certifier's course of study, which includes education and experiential learning. The certified walkway specialist possesses the requisite knowledge and experience, as verified by passage of written examinations, and in-field assessment of the certified individual's capabilities in the testing, measurement, and recording of walkway surface analysis and results.
