The mark is presented in upper case characters with the letter "H" in "HOT" and the letter "D" in "ROD" being in a larger font size than the rest of "HOT ROD" and "EXPRESS" being stacked under the "OT RO" of and between the bottoms of the "H" and "D" of "HOT ROD". The letters in "HOT ROD" are red with black outline and a white background. The "X" in "EXPRESS" is stylized and the word "EXPRESS" has graduated colors starting with yellow along the tops of the letters, then changing to orange in the middle and then to red at the bottom. A gray ribbon extends below and partially beneath "HOT ROD EXPRESS" and contains the words "MAIDEN, NC". A black Hot Rod is located below the gray ribbon at a slight right to left diagonal to show a left-front perspective view of the Hot Rod. The Hot Rod also has yellow, orange and red flames extending rearward from the front of the left front quarter-panel from behind the left front tire and headlight and across most of the drivers door. Behind all of the above is a shield with a broad light gray stripe down the middle of the shield and two dark gray stripes on either side of the light gray stripe, a black background, an outline of two shades of gray and an inner line of orange slightly inside the outline. At the bottom of the shield and on the broad light gray stripe the words "SINCE", "NC", and "1984" are stacked. Behind all other elements of the design are three partially obscured sets of flames that have yellow, orange and red on the inside and a black outline.
