The colors black, gold, and bronze are claimed as features of the mark. The entire design has a black background. The words RIGAS and RIGA BLACK BALSAM are in gold. There is a design of a castle with two banners spreading out on either side; on the left this banner contains the words HERBAL BITTER, and on the right the words PRODUCT OF LATVIA, all of which is in gold on the black background. Above the castle are two gold keys that overlap and above the keys is a gold cross. Around the top and edges of the design are elaborate swirls and leaf-type objects, and the entire design is surrounded by a double-lined gold box. In the center of the design is a gold-trimmed section that is filled with the color bronze. The words MELNAIS BALZAMS are enclosed within this section, in black letters with gold trim. In black letters below these words, in the same bronze background, gold-trimmed section, are the words "SINCE 1752". Below the word BALSAM is a series of oval and circular shaped medallion-like objects that are bronze with writing and drawings in black.
