Utility meters; liquid meters; water meters; meters for measuring the quantity of fluids passing therethrough; and parts therefore, including registers for use with meters, and meter reading registers including electrical output registers; utility meter reading systems comprised of a utility meter, a transmitter for transmitting information from the meter and an electric accumulator for receiving the transmittal information; antennae components, namely an inductive coil, used in obtaining data from and transmitting instructions to an electronic module, attached to a water meter, that identifies the water user's account and collects and stores data on the volume of water used; portable electronic data collection devices, namely, a receiver for receiving transmitted information related to utility usage; remote reading system comprised of a transponder that transmits information via an electric transmitter to be received by an electric receiver; remote meter reading systems, comprised of a utility meter equipped with register configured to increment electronic usage memory housed in a separate electronic unit which accumulates usage and stores meter and account identifiers, and communicates over a two wire connection to either a remote location where data can be collected, or the electronic unit can be programmed, by RF communication through an antenna coil with an electronic hand held device equipped with compatible software, or to an intermediate module which converts the information to three wire output and relays the information to a meter interface unit for direct connection to a local telephone line or other communication system for reading at a remote site through a personal computer on which meter reading and report generating software is installed
