The mark, as used by persons authorized by Applicant, certifies that companies displaying the mark meet certain health and safety standards set by Applicant. The certification mark, as used by persons authorized by certifier, certifies that processed foods, meats, staple foods and light beverages, and food prepared in restaurants meet one or more of the following criteria - reduced in or free of fat, cholesterol, sodium, sugar or other sweeteners, are high in dietary fiber, and are free of unnecessary or potentially harmful additives and is intended to certify that the person using the mark has met certain formal educational, experimental and ethical standards in the field of food safety and sanitation practices and that the work in rendering the services was performed by persons who have met the standards established by the certifier and who have passed an examination administered by the certifier.
