The certification mark, as used by authorized persons, certifies that a large percentage of the scale, or component thereof production lot conforms to the type article that received a NTEP Certificate of Conformance from NIST/NCWM. The Service Mark is associated with the Scale Manufacturers Association (SMA), a non-profit U.S. Industry Association that was established in 1945, which provides a permanent instrumentality for coordinating the efforts of many individuals in the best interest of the public, the owners and users of scales, and scale manufacturers. The SMA is not engaged in the production or marketing of the goods or services to which the mark is applied.
