Certified persons have proven a certain level of understanding of Scrum as described in the Scrum Guide, a consistent use of terminology and approach to Scrum, the underlying principles of Scrum, the ability to effectively apply Scrum in complex, real- world situations, and a level of professionalism and commitment to continuous improvement.
