The mark consists of wording and designs used as labeling on a bottle. A vertical gold ribbon appears at the top of the mark, with a gold oval seal halfway up the ribbon. The oval also features black lines forming a diamond shape within. A design of a gold banner, trimmed with black and white edges and featuring folds, appears across the center of the mark stretching horizontally. The word "COINTREAU" appears within the banner in black letters with white outlines. The word "NOIR" appears in gold letters below the banner. Vertical gold lines appear behind the banner design and stretch to the bottom of the mark, all on a black background. The lines on the far sides of the design are thickest. In the lower portion of the mark, the thin gold lines are interrupted by a diamond shape formed by thin gold lines, which is filled with thin, gold horizontal lines. At the bottom of the diamond, the wording "E. COINTREAU" appears in gold as a signature. At the bottom of the mark, there is a small gold rectangle.
