The certification mark, as used (or intended to be used) by authorized persons, certifies (or is intended to certify) that the dam and sire of the cockapoo dog must have the following: 1. A current annual Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) exam; 2. A patellar luxation examination and certificate pursuant to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA); 3. American Kennel Club (AKC) papers of the originating American Cocker Spaniel and Poodle; 4. A current pedigree tracing back to the originating breeds; a three generation pedigree is preferable or beyond; 5. Excellent health and temperament; 6. Completed CCA Stud Certificate for the AMERICAN COCKAPOO if the breeder does not own the sire; 7. The AMERICAN COCKAPOO must be half AKC American Cocker Spaniel and half AKC Poodle and the proceeding AMERICAN COCKAPOO generations must be from stock that are half and half of the originating breeds. 8. If an AMERICAN COCKAPOO is bred, it must only be bred with an unrelated, qualifying, AMERICAN COCKAPOO to be included in the CCA Registry database; it may not be crossed with an English Cockapoo or a non-provable Cockapoo nor with a Cocker or a Poodle; 9. All colors and color combinations, and all size categories are acceptable Teacup Toy, Toy, Miniature, Mini Standard and Standard; 10. OFA elbow and hip dysplasia certification is optional; and 11. The breeder must be a current member of the CCA in good standing and must have signed and adhered to the breeder code of ethics in order to use the CCA name AMERICAN COCKAPOO.
